De #GetCheckedEarly-campagne richt zich op vroegdetectie van kanker en focust op teelbalkanker, sarcoom en borstkanker bij jongvolwassenen en adolescenten. Minister Vandenbroucke steunt ons initiatief en roept jongeren op om zich tijdig te laten checken. Want vroegtijdige detectie kan levens redden.
The aim of our #getcheckedearly campaigns is clear, says Professor Dr Ahmad Awada, chair of the board of All.Can Belgium: “to raise awareness among young people about early diagnosis of breast cancer , testicular cancer and sarcoma to save lives.”

De eerste resultaten van de ZORALCS-studie tonen dat georganiseerde longkankerscreening in Vlaanderen haalbaar is en resultaten oplevert die vergelijkbaar zijn met die van ander Europese studies.
Hoofd- en halskankers werden lange tijd vooral in verband gebracht met tabak en alcohol. Maar er is ook een andere oorzaak, namelijk een virus: het humaan papillomavirus (HPV).
Jaarlijks krijgen bijna 9.000 vrouwen [1] een conisatie om voorloperletsels te behandelen. Voorloperletsels zijn afwijkende cellen in de baarmoederhals die zich kunnen ontwikkelen tot baarmoederhalskanker. Ze worden opgespoord via een uitstrijkje.
